What is NIL and how does it affect student-athletes?: NIL stands for Name, Image, and Likeness. Since July 2021, the NCAA allows student-athletes to profit from their personal brand—through endorsements, social media sponsorships, autograph signings, and more—without losing eligibility.
Do high school athletes qualify for NIL deals?: Yes—in Texas and most states, high school athletes can now pursue NIL opportunities. We help high school athletes start building their brand early and prepare for college NIL opportunities.
Will NIL income affect my scholarship?: NIL income does not directly affect athletic scholarships. However, NIL income is taxable and could affect needs-based financial aid. We educate athletes and families on how to manage NIL income responsibly.
